WeaverHouse was established in 1996 and founded by Adam Mark Tilstone DO, Registered Osteopath. His aim was to combine and integrate the principles of conventional and complementary medicine. To assist with the administration of osteopathic treatments, there are four Osteopathic Practitioners, two male and two female, offering various techniques including Cranial Osteopathy.

Since first opening up an Osteopathic Practice in 1990 when Adam first graduated from The British School of Osteopathy, his patients often enquired about other complementary therapies. This was when his vision of a Multidisciplinary Clinic was first born, coming into fruition with the opening of The WeaverHouse Clinic.

As well as Osteopathy WeaverHouse also offers a wide range of complementary therapies including:-

  • Acupuncture
  • Herbalism, Nutrition and Allergy Testing
  • Holistic Therapy
  • Homeopathy
  • Hypnotherapy
  • Nutrition
  • Osteopathy
  • Canine, Equine Osteopathy and Sports Massage

Complementary medicine provides another dimension into what we think of as conventional medicine. While modern western medicine tends to focus on treating specific illnesses and their symptoms complementary medicine takes a broader view and considers factors such as a patient's diet, temperament, working environment and sleeping habits when prescribing treatment. As part of his further development, Adam Tilstone trained as an Equine Osteopath having completed a postgraduate course in 1993.

In early 1999 WeaverHouse was awarded the Investor in People standard and during 2006 was recognised as continuing to meet the requirements of the national Standard for effective Investment in People.
